    Description

One-of-a-kind white pinstriped jersey, size 48, made up for Beckett Baseball cover photo shoot, and signed by Travis. A copy of the 2/98 Beckett Baseball magazine is included in this auction.
A native of San Diego, California, Travis Lee
played for San Diego State University and received the Golden Spikes Award from U.S.A. Baseball, in addition to being a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. Baseball team at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
He was selected in Round 1 (#2 overall) of the 1996 MLB Amateur Draft by the Minnesota Twins, but after the Twins failed to offer Lee a contract within fifteen days MLB declared him to be a free agent. He was then signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who would not have a Triple-A affiliate until 1998; so in 1997 Lee was loaned to the Milwaukee Brewers in order to have him play with the Brewer's Triple-A affiliate, the Tucson Toros.
Travis Lee was the Diamondbacks' starting first baseman during their Inaugural Season and got the team's first hit and first home run, and was arguably the team's first "face of the franchise"
. He continued to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks until 2000, when he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. He subsequently played for the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees. In 2007 Lee was offered a minor league contract by the Washington Nationals and retired as a player during Spring Training.
