    This auction is for a game worn 1998 St. Louis Cardinals red mesh batting practice baseball jersey. It belonged to pitcher Kent Mercker. Jersey is made by Rawlings. Size 48. Name sewn onto name plate. Jersey tagged inside front tail – Rawlings tag and flag tag ("SET 1 1997"). Mercker joined team in December 1997 and pitched in 1998 so this is a carry over jersey from previous year. Pretty common for teams to do that back then. Collar has size and wash tags. Jersey comes with LOA from Ball Park Heroes. Kent pitched in 30 games (29 starts) going 11-11 with a 5.07 ERA. Top winner for the team that season. He was an 18-year veteran of MLB.
