Game jersey from Atlanta Braves Spring Training in 1997. Comes with a team letter. Meulens jersey was apparently included in the team sale as having been made up late in '96.
Born in Willemstad, Curacao, Hensley Meulens was signed as an undrafted free agent in 1985 by the New York Yankees, reaching the Major Leagues in 1989 and playing for the Yankees through the 1993 season. After playing in Japan (1994-1996) Meulens played for the Montreal Expos (1997), Arizona Diamondbacks (in the team's Inaugural Season of 1998), the Newark Bears of the independent Atlantic League, and for two teams in the Mexican League. He was the Hitting Coach for the San Francisco Giants beginning in 2010 and helped that team to World Championships in three of his first five years. Meulens served as the New York Mets Bench Coach in 2020.
