This auction is for a 2002 game-worn/used Colorado Rockies home white third jersey. Jersey was worn by pitcher Kent Mercker, #54. Jersey is made by Russell, size 48. Front of jersey has sewn on "CR" and 54 in 2 colors. Velcro patch between 2nd and 3rd buttons. Name is sewn directly on jersey. Russell logo embroidered on left sleeve. Rockies patch on left sleeve and 10th Anniversary patch on right sleeve. Has the Russell jock tag. Team tagging below jock tag and has "MERCKER-48-54" on it. Flag tag (curled in photo) has "48 100% POLYESTER" on it. Jersey shows mild use since it was a special Sunday version. Mercker pitched in 58 games for the Rockies in 2002 going 3-1 with a 6.14 ERA. This was his return season after a head injury (line drive to noggin) in Anaheim took him out for 2000 and 2001. Kent played 18 years in MLB including with the Braves, Orioles, Angels, Indians, Red Sox, Cardinals, Cubs and Reds. Drafted with the 5th pick by Atlanta in 1986. He is a Dublin Coffman HS product.
