    Product Details
    Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Chesapeake and Ohio Grain Elevator Company dating back to the 1880's. This document was printed by H. G. Riley, Stationer, and measures approximately 11" (w) by 7 1/4" (h).
    The vignette features the company's large grain elevator.

    Historical Context
    The Chesapeake and Ohio Grain Elevator Company, incorporated in New Jersey on July 12, 1882, and was a subsidiary of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Company.
    The company was formed to build a grain elevator and warehouse in Newport News, Virginia.
    The grain elevator was destroyed by fire on September 4, 1915, and was not rebuilt.
