Antique VINTAGE Patriotic TINY BOW Lapel USA FLAG Doll Teddy Bear BRASS PIN NOS - AUCTION IS FOR A SINGLE PIN OR ONE FLAG PIN ONLY
Manufacturer and exact date Unknown. Circa 1930s. Sheet is Marked “Made In Japan” under each pin. THIS AUCTION IS FOR 1 FLAG ONLY - WE SHOW THE SHEET SO YOU CAN SEE HOW THEY ORIGINALLY WERE PACKAGED.  The bowtie measures approx. 1.75" wide and approx 7/8" - 1” tall at bow end and the brass/steel pin is approx 1.5" tall with head included.  I cannot tell if the flag has 48 or 50 stars as the flag is so small and the stars so tiny.
This type of unusual stick pin was found in the estate of a family that was politically active for generations.  I was informed that they were from the 1930s but while the “Made in Japan” markings were used before 1939 (from then nothing was imported to the US from Japan until after the war) and generally “Made in Occupied Japan” was used from 1945-52 (when the occupation ended), “Made in Japan” was used again from the early 1950s until today. So as far as the provenance on the date - we cannot be 100% sure of age.
These definitely have some age and I would guess that these are Pre WW 2. The paper they are mounted on is yellowed/tanned somewhat from  age but also possibly that is the original shade of paper.   The brass/steel pins with brass beaded heads have very sharp points. The bow is not plastic nor paper but appears to be some sort of starched fabric that keeps its shape- it is very hard to explain. It is wrapped with a matching small red, white and blue ribbon. The brass pin has been inserted in the center to attach to your lapel or the lapel of your doll or teddy bear!
