Anahera Persian Wool - Colors 2635-2999 - Hank or Skein

We are proud to introduce Anahera, an exquisite new wool yarn for needlepoint.  It is spun to match the sizing of one ply of the traditional Persian yarn, but is stronger, softer and more durable.
Anahera is 100% virgin wool from New Zealand. The wool is soft to the touch yet strong and resilient to minimize breaking and fraying during stitching.  It offers excellent coverage for truly lasting beauty. It is especially great for upholstery and rugs, or anything that might require durability.
In addition to the original 3 oz (450 Yard) hank, this wonderful wool is now available in the smaller 45 Yard Skein as well.  They are perfect to try it out, and to get a nice pallet of colors for shading.  Each hank equal to 10 skeins, and more economical when using it for a large project or background color.  The last picture shows the skein and hank side by side.  I'll try get a better quality of picture soon.

You can also order the entire line of 127 colors in skeins by selecting the color "Full Set (127 colors)".  The listed price reflects a 15% discount from ordering individually.
To build up the colors over several orders, you can purchase them in three sets.  Simply pick the colors Set 1 of 3 (2220 - 2486), Set 2 of 3 (2490 - 2662) and Set 3 and 3 (2663 - 2970) on the orders to get the full set.  The prices reflects a 10% discount from ordering individually.

Suggested Ply Count for needlepoint:
* 1 Ply - 18 & 16 count mesh
* 2 ply - 14 & 13 count mesh, may work with 16 and 12 count depending on tension and stitch pattern
* 3 ply - 12 and 10 count mesh
Note on sizing:
If you are following an pattern calling for 3-Strand Persian Wool by length, please note that you need to purchase 3 times the length of Anahera wool.  The traditional Persian wool are 3 strands loosely twisted together (3-Ply), and normally separated and recombined to various thickness during stitching.  If your pattern measures the wool quantity by weight, Anahera is comparable to 3 strand Persian Wool.  For example, if your pattern calls for 8-yard skein of Paternayan Persian wool, you need to purchase 24 yards of Anahera, which is a little more than half of the skein.  If it calls for 3 oz of Paternayan, you can purchase the 3 oz hank of Anahera.
For Knitter/Crocheter, this yarn is a fingering/baby weight, spun tighter than most knitting wool.  It is 150 yard per oz (around 240 meters per 50 grams), or 2400 yards per pound.
